I am Enki… no, I am Thoth, and welcome to the fourth season of «ENKI: Tales from the Past». As we approach the fifteenth episode of this final season, I find myself at a crossroads, both personally and in the grand scheme of our shared history. The weight of what I have witnessed and the actions I have taken has transformed me. I am not the same being who first landed on Earth, brimming with the excitement of a new scientific endeavor. I have seen the heights of love and connection, the depths of betrayal, and the devastating consequences of unchecked power. I am now known as Thoth, and my journey has taken me into the heart of the mysteries of this planet.
Now, as Thoth, I carry not only the wisdom of the past, but also the weight of the future.
As always, I urge you to engage with these stories. Your reactions, your questions, and your shared experiences are a vital part of this ongoing narrative. So, please, continue to reach out to us, share your thoughts, and become more than a listener; become a participant in the unfolding of history. And so, without further delay, I invite you to delve into this episode, a chapter that will bring us closer to the culmination of this epic saga
The crystalline matrix pulsed beneath my fingers as I adjusted the final obelisk, feeling the familiar resonance of power coursing through my palms. Ancient Lyran technology thrummed through the underground chamber of Abydos, casting ethereal blue light across the polished stone walls, creating dancing shadows that reminded me of the stellar maps back on Nibiru. I’d chosen this place carefully – far from Enlil’s prying eyes, deep beneath the sands where knowledge could take root and flourish undisturbed. The humans call this place Abydos Pools, or Osireion, though they know nothing of its true significance or the secrets I’ve woven into its very foundations.
I am no longer Enki, Prince heir, son of Anu. That identity must fade like footprints in desert sand…
I am Thoth! Keeper of wisdom, guardian of sacred knowledge, and now protector of humanity’s future!
“My brother plays at being a vengeful god,” I muttered, tracing the hieroglyphs I’d taught these people. “Then I shall be wisdom incarnate.”
The central power source – a remnant of the Lyran Pyramids – cast dancing shadows through the crystalline array. Each precise movement of the crystals sent new waves of energy coursing through the hidden chamber. Above, I heard the low drone of chanting. My followers, the priests of Thoth, conducted their rituals, unaware of the true nature of what lay beneath their feet.
My golden armor felt heavy, transformed now into the ceremonial robes of Thoth. The ibis mask I wore caught the light, its polished surface reflecting the pulsing energy. How far I’d come from the proud Anunnaki prince who first landed on this planet.
The wounds are still fresh – the exodus, the betrayal, the loss of so many. But here, in this sanctuary of ancient knowledge, I can plant seeds that will flourish. The humans needed more than just tales of wrathful deities. They need wisdom, science, mathematics… truth! – tools to build their own destiny.
I’ve set some Igiggi on the lower levels to monitor every single human action, their gray forms melting into the shadows like living sensors. I will create a bastion of knowledge in Egypt, a temple of learning where the sacred sciences can be preserved. Manipulation and treachery is better fought with knowledge and science – let the humans use it to fight their demise. My brother Enlil may seek to keep them in darkness, but I’ll ensure they have the tools to light their own path.
And then… there’s Inanna… my beloved daughter, somewhere out there in this vast land. I still need to find her! The thought of her alone, perhaps in danger, makes my ancient heart ache.
A surge of power rippled through the chamber as the final crystal locked into place. The chanting above grew louder, resonating with the frequency of the machines. My fingers traced the cool surface of an obelisk, feeling the familiar hum of repurposed technology.
“Let my brother have his chosen people,” I whispered to the emptiness. “I choose to arm them all with knowledge.”
Two can play that game!
I watched my chosen nine, each face illuminated by the warm glow of oil lamps in our hidden chamber beneath the Osireion. Scrolls lined the walls, star charts mapped the heavens, and anatomical drawings detailed the secrets of the human form. These weren’t mere students – they were flames I would ignite to spread wisdom across this troubled land.
“Watch carefully,” I guided Amenhotep’s hand as he traced the path of celestial bodies on a chart. “The stars tell stories older than the gods themselves.”
“But what of the new temple priests?” Imhotep looked up from his calculations. “They speak of a single deity who demands absolute devotion.”
I adjusted my ibis mask, the weight familiar after all these years. “The stories of the gods, my children, are but a veil. Beneath them lie the truths of the cosmos, the mysteries of life. Learn to see beyond the veil.”
Nefertari’s quill paused over her papyrus. “High Priest Thoth, what are we to do with the lies? The stories of a single ‘god’, of a promised land?”
“Patience, my child. The truth must be sown, not forced. You will plant seeds, not demand harvests. Focus on what is true and right. Focus on the heart, on compassion.”
I moved among them, adjusting Kahmeni’s grip on the measuring rod as he calculated the golden ratio. Beside him, Merneith ground herbs for healing, her movements precise and purposeful.
“See how the sacred geometry appears in nature?” I traced the spiral pattern of a shell. “The same mathematics that guide the stars guide the growth of every living thing.”
The scratch of quills on papyrus filled the chamber as they recorded their observations. Young Amenemhat raised his hand. “But why hide these truths in symbols and metaphors?”
“Some truths are seeds that must grow slowly.” I picked up a lotus blossom from our collection of healing plants. “Like this flower, wisdom unfolds one petal at a time.”
I traced my fingers across the holographic coordinates, the blue light casting shadows across my weathered face. The last place my daughter had been seen – a mere pinpoint of light hovering above the three-dimensional map. Twenty years since Ninki left… twenty years of searching, of hoping, of praying to stars that no longer answered.
“Where are you, my child? Are you safe?” My cry echoed in the chamber’s stillness. “I will find you, I promise. No matter the cost.”
The computer beeps tinkled softly, their melody mixing with the familiar hum of ancient Lyran tech embedded in the walls. My eyes drifted to her portraits – Inanna as a child, eyes bright with curiosity as she peered through a microscope; Inanna in her lab coat, proud beside her first successful genetic sequence; Inanna speaking to crowds in Babylon, her passion for humanity burning bright.
My hand brushed against the cool stone wall, steadying myself as grief washed over me anew. The blinking dots across the holomap marked places where she might be hiding, each one a possibility, each one so far empty. The single lamp cast long shadows across the chamber floor… my secluded room… my tomb… The lamp’s flame dancing like my daughter’s spirit – untamed, unpredictable, beautiful.
A heavy sigh escaped my lips. The weight of my golden armor felt crushing in this moment of vulnerability. Here, in this sacred space beneath the Osireion, I wasn’t Prince Ea or Thoth the wise – just a father aching for his child.
The hologram flickered yet again, coordinates shifting in an endless dance of possibilities coming from the feeds sent by the Igiggi below. The low hum of technology filled the silence, a reminder of all we’d built, all we’d lost. My fingers trembled as they passed through another set of coordinates, disrupting the light pattern momentarily.
“I will find you Inanna!”
