S1E26: Council: Resolution

As I sit amidst the grandeur of the council meeting, the atmosphere crackles with tension and hostility. The weight of this animosity bears down upon my shoulders, threatening to crush my spirit. It is a tempestuous gathering, where alliances fracture and loyalties are tested. The rift between Enki and Enlil has cast a long shadow over the corporation, and I find myself caught in the crossfire of their bitter feud.

No one, not even Enki, could know the true location of our expedition.

The pain of hiding our love and our daughter’s existence was excruciating. I longed to share our joy with Enki, to revel in the wonder of our creation together. But the world we inhabited demanded sacrifice, and so I carried this burden alone. Every day was a struggle, torn between the secrecy that protected us and the desire to embrace our forbidden love openly.

Living nearby the primitive natives was a challenge, but it was also a blessing. It gave me the time and space to prepare for the arrival of my daughter, and to bond with her in a way that I never could have in our old corporative life. Through meticulous genetic manipulation and guided evolution, we can harness the untapped potential of the primitive natives we have discovered. “We shall assemble a team of brilliant scientists, guardians of knowledge and innovation, who will carefully guide the evolution of these hominids. Every step we take shall be rooted in respect for their inherent dignity and the principles of mutual benefit. With their genetic evolution, these hominids will become a new society, working under our rule simulating a symbiotic harmony. They shall contribute their unique skills and abilities, lightening the burdens that have weighed us down for the past moons. In turn, we shall nurture their growth to the needed extent fostering an environment of prosperity.”

“Great Anu, I implore you to embrace this vision, to see beyond the confines of the present and into the vast potential that lies before us. The future we seek is one where our people thrive, unburdened by excessive toil, united in purpose, and propelled by innovation. It is a future where our civilization shines as a beacon of progress and as co-creators of the universe.”

“As I stand here, filled with unwavering belief in the transformative power of this plan, I humbly request your guidance and support, for within your decision lies the fate of our people and the dreams of a brighter tomorrow… Nibiru will prevail!”

As I conclude my impassioned plea, the chamber falls into silence. Enki seems marveled, Enlil shows an expression of distrust… Anu, the Great Architect and leader of our council, gazes upon me with measured contemplation.
After a brief moment that feels like an eternity, Anu’s voice resonates with a mixture of wisdom and authority, affirming my proposal with a caveat that carries both weight and significance.

“Ninki, your vision for a future of harmony and shared prosperity resonates deeply within me. I recognize the potential of your plan, and I accept it as a bold endeavor that may shape the course of our civilization. I congratulate you and Enki for devising this solution.”

Anu pauses, his tone carrying a sense of firmness, “However, celerity is of the utmost importance. Our people have endured for far too long under the burdensome weight of their labor. They yearn for relief, and it is our duty to provide it swiftly. Furthermore,” Anu adds, his gaze shifting towards Enlil, “I decree that Enlil, as the overseer and quality controller, shall lend his expertise to this project. His presence will ensure that the genetic evolution of the hominids proceeds with meticulous care and security. I will not accept failure from any of you three!”

The room stirs with a mix of curiosity and tension at this unexpected twist. Enlil, the one with whom I share a complicated history and a sense of rivalry, will now be an integral part of this undertaking. I can sense the scrutiny and judgment that will accompany his involvement.

“I hear your words, Great Anu, and I accept your conditions,” I respond with unwavering resolve. “I pledge to you my unwavering dedication to the swiftness and success of this project. Together, Enki, Enlil and I shall navigate the challenges that lie ahead, guided by our shared commitment to the well-being of our people.”

As I step away from the council chambers, I carry with me the weight of responsibility, but also a glimmer of hope and the eternal smile Enki shared with me.
